FAQ & troubleshooting

Quick answers to common questions, and fixes for problems you might run into.

General

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Panoramas, hotspots, the tour map, 3D scenes and settings are all built with the editor. Code is optional, for the Execute JavaScript code action and Custom HTML pages.

Which camera do I need?

Any camera or app that produces equirectangular 360° images (a 2:1 JPEG or PNG): 360° cameras such as Ricoh Theta, Insta360 or GoPro Max, or phone panorama apps with a 360° photo mode.

What do my visitors need?

Only a modern web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. No app or plug-in.

How do I move a project between devices?

Export a ZIP (it contains the whole project, including WTMProject.wtm). On a computer, unzip it into a folder and use Open Existing Project. Projects use the same format on every platform.

Can I open projects made with the older 3Sixty app?

Yes. The project file format is the same, including hotspot positions, actions, tour maps and 3D scenes. The tour player of an old project is upgraded automatically the first time you Run or Export it, with a backup of the old index.html.

Ads, coins and support

  • Windows and Mac show a small banner ad that changes every few minutes. You can hide it with Ciihuy Coins.
  • Android shows an AdMob banner at the bottom of the screen. Where required, you are asked for consent (GDPR) before ads load.
  • iPhone and iPad will have no ads.

Ads appear only in the app, never in your exported tours.

How do Ciihuy Coins work? (desktop)

  • You receive 100 coins as a welcome bonus on first launch.
  • 1 coin = 1 minute without ads. Spending coins adds time on top of any time you still have left.
  • Get more coins by redeeming a 9-digit coin code. Redeeming needs an internet connection. A code works once; "Code is invalid, already used, or not yet confirmed" means it was rejected.
  • Your balance is stored on your computer and tied to that device.

The Support Us button on desktop leads to ways to support development.

Troubleshooting

The exported tour shows a black screen

  • If you opened index.html by double-clicking, serve it from a web server instead (see Test the export on your computer).
  • Check that you uploaded every folder, not only index.html.
  • Check an Execute JavaScript code action for syntax errors; one broken action can stop the tour. The browser's developer console (F12) shows the error.
  • File names on most web servers are case sensitive: Lobby.JPG and lobby.jpg are different files.

A hotspot or action does nothing

The file it points to may have been deleted or renamed. Open the hotspot and choose the target again. Deleting media shows a list of places where the file is used, so check that list before confirming.

I can't delete a panorama

It is the main panorama. Choose another Main Panorama in Settings, then delete it.

My 3D model is rejected

Only binary glTF (.glb) is accepted, and the file is checked for the GLB signature. Export as glTF Binary (.glb) from your 3D tool. Renaming a .gltf or .obj file does not work.

Visitors get stuck in a 3D scene

Every 3D scene needs a way out: an object or trigger with an Open Panorama action, or a tour map. See 3D Scenes.

Show Iframe shows an empty window

The website refuses to be embedded. Use its embed address if it has one, or switch to Open URL. The Open in new tab ↗ link above the window always works.

"Parts skipped during build"

The build could not find one of the markers in index.html, usually because the file was edited by hand. Restore index.before-upgrade.html or an earlier export, or copy your content into a new project.

"Failed to start preview"

Press Try again. If it keeps failing, restart the app. The preview uses a small local web server; security software that blocks local connections can prevent it from starting.

"Project folder not found"

On desktop, reconnect the drive that holds the project, or use Open Existing Project if you moved the folder. On mobile, the project's files are gone from the app's storage.

"Please save the ZIP outside the project folder."

Choose a different location, such as your Desktop or Documents folder.

Still stuck?

Write to hello@3sixtystudio.com with your platform, the app version (shown in the app's About dialog) and a description of the problem.
